Glenn is a "status Indian" and member of the Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation.

Like many Mi’kmaq people in Newfoundland, Glenn grew up with little knowledge of his Indigenous heritage. Many families suppressed that part of their family history because of the intense racism prevalent in Smallwood-era Newfoundland.

Glenn maintains close contact with his Mi’kmaq community. He is the host of the very popular Mi’kmaq Matters, “a podcast about the Qalipu people and our world,” that has been featured on CBC Corner Brook. To learn more about Mi'kmaq Matters, click here.

Glenn is also a co-founder of Native Currents Communications Inc., which provides professional services to Chiefs, band councils and Indigenous organizations. More at nativecurrents.ca
