Bio + Credentials

Glenn majored in labour and employment law at Osgoode Hall Law School and articled at the prominent Toronto litigation and labour law firm Sack Goldblatt Mitchell, where former Ontario premier Bob Rae also did his articling. Glenn was also an associate at Shell Lawyers, a boutique firm whose practice focuses on labour and human rights law and civil litigation.

Glenn has degrees in journalism, criminology and law. He has written for the Globe and Mail, the Canadian Press, and several publications. For more than a decade, he was associate editor of NOW and head of the news department.

Glenn was born in York Harbour, Newfoundland where he has a cottage and visits regularly. Glenn is of Mi’kmaq aboriginal heritage and is a member of the local Mi’kmaq band.

Glenn represents COPE Ontario on the Aboriginal Circle of the Ontario Federation of Labour.

Community Involvement

Glenn is a member of the board of directors of Multilingual Community Interpreter Services, which provides interpretation and translation services in more than 100 languages. More information at mcis.on.ca.

Glenn acts as pro bono legal counsel for the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists, a professional association and service organization founded by dance artists for dance artists.

He recently finished two terms as a director of West Toronto Community Legal Services, a legal aid clinic. He also has served as a director of the Karma Food Cooperative.

Glenn has been a volunteer for St. Stephen’s Community House and for CultureLink, an agency that helps newcomers adjust to life in Canada.

Glenn is active in the Liberal Party (provincial and federal).
